Manhattan band/art collective cumgirl8 have released ‘Karma Police’, the first single from their cyberfeminist-fuelled debut album, The 8th Cumming, releasing next month.

First, the obvious question – no, this isn’t a Radiohead cover. I would love to hear cumgirl8’s take on that song though!

This ‘Karma Police’ is a completely original song, retelling a chaotic night the band had while on tour. With their 00s clickbaity cam-girl-inspired name, cumgirl8 manages to deliver a vibe that is somehow new and nostalgic at the same time.

It starts off with a robotic voice stating,

“We are the modern cunt-positive, anti-reason, unbounded, unleashed, unforgiving”

before delivering a beautifully frenetic mix of angular post-punk riffage mixed with dancey punk-pop keyboards – think Essential Logic and The Slits mixed with a bit of Bis and Gravy Train!

‘Karma Police’ is out now, and The 8th Cumming is out on 4th October through 4AD.
