Massachusetts’s own alternative rock band Jennifer Tefft & The Strange have released a new single, ‘Going Out’, but don’t worry, everyone is invited.

The new single is out now via Rock Garden Records. ‘Going Out’ follows February’s excellent release ‘Caffeine’ and serves as the third and final offering before Jennifer Tefft & The Strange drop the bomb with their new album, Strange Beginnings, on May the 17th.

Sharing in its ragged rock glory and contemplation of female identity and empowerment is a song akin to PJ Harvey‘s ‘Dress’.

While the restless energy of ‘Caffeine’ contemplated the end of a night, ‘Going Out’ bursts with the dynamism that the start of a night out brings. The relentless buzz of their guitars acts as a siren call for friends and family to hit the town and make the most of a carefree night out.

“This song is about, and goes out to, all my fellow moms! Especially those that have small kiddos at home and who are staying at home with them. Pulling from my own experience as a stay-at-home mother, as well as a musician who gets to observe people from the stage, there is no group of people who are more likely to go all in on their night out – and even go off the rails – than a group of moms finally getting out for the evening with their friends!”
