Beth Gibbons takes us to new heights on ‘Reaching Out’, the latest single off her upcoming Lives Outgrown album.
Alternating bursts of musical order and chaos, complete with Gibbons’ haunting vocals and full symphonic orchestration, are accompanied by truly mind-bending visuals on an interactive video directed by Weirdcore.
“The video features 4D models of Beth freefalling through a kinetic sci-fi spacescape. As the video progresses, the models of Beth change to represent the different stages in her life, echoing the Lives Outgrown of the album title. If you click and hold down on your mouse button, this allows you to interact and rotate the models to have a sense of them trying to reach each other in impossible ways.”
The new single sets the tone for the deep introspection and self-reflection that Gibbons says will take center stage in Lives Outgrown, which drops May 17th.
