Australian indie rock trio Club Halifax unleash ‘Bee Sting’, an emotionally charged exploration of the raw aftermath of a breakup.
Raw, vulnerable and buzzing with distortion, the track channels pain into growth, resilience and learning to move on. Vocalist Bri shares:
“‘Bee Sting’ is about the aftermath of a breakup and feeling destined to absorb pain to maintain normalcy and keep the peace. Making the song felt like showing the cracks instead of hiding them and sitting in the anger and rawness instead of resolving it neatly. Ultimately, the process meant learning that the pain means it mattered, but it isn’t a reason to stay somewhere wrong.”
“The recording process was really different for us, we just started jamming it and it was honestly unpredictable. It kept shifting until Hop’s (Cameron’s) distorted twang and Cam’s drum part landed on something buzzy and incredibly vulnerable, like you can’t hide in this song. We didn’t expect it but it’s exactly where it needs to be.”
