LOUD WOMEN Fest alumnus Fräulein have a instant-classic new single ‘The Last Drop’ out now via Submarine Cat Records. Mesmerisingly swooshy riffs and swirling vocals à la Dry-era PJ Harvey, which contrasts beautifully with the lo-fi video (is that Super-8?) featuring Joni and Karsten in a nice milky bath.
“The song is about the frustrations of relationships, of putting yourself out there to be loved and not getting what you might want in return. It’s about turning to others for support. It’s about dealing with disappointment in maybe not the healthiest ways, drowning, drinking, and drying up.”
Joni Samuels – guitar and vocals
The laser sharp production, leaning towards the poppier end of grunge, signals perhaps something of a gear shift from Fräulein. Buckle up, I see big things on the horizon for these two.
“Get into a milk bath (we recommend coconut) and put it on repeat. Sing out your frustrations.”
The dynamic duo, freshly bathed, are off on European tour at the moment with this year’s LOUD WOMEN Hercury Prize winners, Big Joanie.
