Brixton Hill Studios are LOUD WOMEN’s favourite studios to rehearse, record, film pop videos, hire backline, hang out … all the best things! And here’s why.
- All the best kit.
If you’re picky about your equipment, there’s 3 high spec rehearsal rooms to choose from. And what’s more, you can take away a recording of your rehearsal for free so you can listen again later. They also hire out equipment. That fancy equipment in the upstairs room of LOUD WOMEN Fest last month? That’s where it came from. Boom. - You can talk to proper music heads.
Brixton Hill Studios is run and staffed by musicians and audio experts who love supporting musicians to make new music. Unlike the big corporate, staffless, soulless studios, you’ll find rooms full of top class, working equipment, and friendly humans on hand to help you with any awkward questions (e.g. know any good chords, which button for ‘visceral heft’, do you know any drummers in fewer than 4 bands, how’s my bass face looking, etc). - Booking your band’s next rehearsal at BHS is literally sticking it to The Man and will make the capitalists weep salty blue tears.
Independent studios, as a breed, are getting washed ashore by, let’s say, ruthless buccaneering chains of studios who are only in it for the booty. The indies need our support now more than ever in the face of corporate greed, and Brixton Hill has recently seen its rent raised to eye-watering levels. Book a rehearsal, and while you’re at it why not ask about recording too. - There’s a really good dog.
If the human aspect isn’t convincing enough for you, how about really nice silky labrador who loves strokes. - You can book online.
Telephone anxiety? Same. Don’t worry, there’s a booking form, so you can book that rehearsal any time day or night you remember to do your bandmin.
