Many may claim to shatter boundaries, but few seldom do. Berlin’s LA HAINE describe themselves as indie/hardcore and they live up to that description. OUT, their debut five song EP is raw. The EP’s lo-fi approach adds grit and vibe. LA HAINE manages to feel right at home amongst indie and old-school hardcore.

Overall, their new EP leans into old school hardcore. The EP’s brilliance stems from underlying indie tendencies which broaden their brush. The single’s ‘RULERS’ and ‘FACE A TOI’ are great examples of that broader brush stroke. Those indie tendencies, hide the slashers smile true nature behind a warm grinned reception.

A highlight of the EP is ‘RISE.ABOVE.DIVE’. On this track, the band swings indie. Edie’s vocals fuel the music like burning coal powers a barreling locomotive. A momentous chug is felt as the band digs into their instruments. Plain, simple, raw power.
