Sadness & Complete Disappointment are back with the atmospheric and haunting ‘GRIP,’ the first of a series of releases to be taken from their upcoming EP GBH. The song, which addresses the internal struggle of living as a creative in a capitalist society, is accompanied by a video that eerily recounts a liberating road trip merged with murder.

“‘This song is about cognitive dissonance in the highest degree, and convexly the back and forth that our little primitive beings face while being affronted with a constant barrage of future shock,” explains guitarist and vocalist Meg Mehta. “ It’s the ol’ adage of there being two wolves inside of everyone – and yup – there are two wolves that live inside of me. One of the wolves wants to earn money and keep myself and my family fed and safe, the other wolf just wants to play music and take mushrooms.”

The hazy melancholy of the song accelerates into a grungy explosion and fervent guitar riff, creating a juxtaposition of solitary reflections and uncontrollable emotions.

Sadness & Complete Disappointment is formed of Esmee Baker, Meg Mehta, Kit Reeve and Kira Snow. ‘GRIP’ is the start of a new chapter for the group, whose lineup has changed slightly since the debut EP FUN.
