‘Mirror Mirror’ is out now from BABYMETAL’s concept album, ‘The Other One’. On the album, each song represents a unique theme, based on 10 separate parallel worlds … ‘Mirror Mirror’ takes us to a parallel world where we question reality.

“Is what you see in the mirror your true self or the self you wish to be?’

BABYMETAL are a Japanese kawaii metal band, formed in 2010 by SU-METAL (vocal & dance) MOAMETAL (scream & dance). [It’s worth noting here that Google Translate just translated Kawaii from Japanese to English as “cute”. Which is perfect.]

In 2016 they were the first Japanese artists to headline Wembley Arena and played Glastonbury Festival in 2019. They deserve every success as this song is insanely brilliant, and by that I mean literally insane and brilliant.

They’ve said, that with their departure into a new world, a new metal will be born. This is definitely a new metal to me. It has a feel of an arcade game and if it hasn’t yet been picked for Beat Saber, Beat Games have missed a trick. Dark and dirty guitars, fusion of metal with techno, little pop moments that offer a pleasing respite to the building intensity, before finishing with a pop outro, it’s fascinating. It’s changed music for me. It might even change Beat Saber for me, I’ll let you know!

Here’s a list of gigs they have coming up when supporting SABATON.

14.04. UK Leeds – First Direct Arena

15.04 UK London – OVO Arena Wembley

16.04. UK Cardiff – Motorpoint Arena

18.04. UK Glasgow – OVO Hydro

Tickets for the UK shows are on-sale now here.
