ALMA’s genre-bending debut, Mosaic, is out now. ALMA’s cinematic sound is a unique blend of folk, rock, grunge, and pop. This NYC-based trio is full of talent: Alba S. Torremocha (vocals, strings, bass, drums, guitar, uke) Lillie R. McDonough (vocals, piano, glock, violin, hammer dulcimer), and Melissa K. Carter (vocals/guitar).
Mosaic is a musical letter to NYC. The songs are full of interesting sound elements that create texture and depth to each song. Using a mobile microphone, ALMA recorded airplanes, phone calls, party noise, and something as simple as bathtub splashes.
