Our track of the day today comes from the awesome Grace Savage: ‘Water Rising’ is out today. Instantly captivating electropop for the club, or for 3am existential dread – or both.

The song is based on a recurring anxiety dream Grace has of becoming consumed by water and unable to move. She interprets this dream in song through the lens of “losing control”; focussing on the deep rooted humans fears of ageing and time passing by too quickly.

“This is one of my favourite songs I’ve written. I came to [producer] James Yuill with a concept, a chorus and a dancehall rhythm beatbox loop (inspired by the opening piece from my score in “Her & Her” film) and it really felt like we were making magic in the studio creating this tune. Adding Mauvey into the mix has brought the song to a whole new level and I can’t wait to play this one live!
