Los Bitchos are back with Hang Up (Pt. 2), teaming up with Sinkane and Adrian Quesada for a track that is bright, breezy and ridiculously easy to fall for. Known for throwing psychedelia, surf, funk and rhythms from around the world into the same colourful pot, the band are now opening up their largely instrumental sound to guest vocalists for the first time.
The track kicks off with sharp, rhythmic guitars, a playful bassline and simple drums that keep everything moving. From there, layers of percussion with a slight cumbia feel, sparkling keyboards, touches of wah-wah and little guitar flourishes start slipping into the mix. Sinkane’s voice floats effortlessly over the groove, while the repeated “let it go now” quickly becomes the kind of chorus that refuses to leave your head. Quesada brings extra warmth and soul, and yet Los Bitchos still sound unmistakably like themselves.

Lyrically, the song is all about dropping emotional baggage, shaking off old ghosts and finding a bit of peace. Thankfully, it never gets too heavy. This is liberation through dancing rather than crying, wrapped in a sound that is sunny, relaxed and full of the band’s trademark playful energy.
Hang Up (Pt. 2) is not a full reinvention, but it does feel like the start of an exciting new chapter. It is the first taste of an upcoming album featuring guest vocalists and collaborators, celebrating what can happen when different sounds, cultures and ideas come together and, naturally, dance.
