It’s such a special feeling when you listen to a track that you’ve agreed to write a review about, always walking in somewhat blind, to find a song that you truly cannot wait to be out so you can stick it in your playlist and listen to it over and over and over again, living amongst all your other favourite songs at the moment. Hearing Lunar Bird‘s ‘Blue Chamber’ I got this feeling. I hadn’t previously heard of the Italian Welsh dream pop duo but I’m so glad to know them now and to maybe get to introduce them to a few of you lovely people!

With absolutely lush vocal arrangements and a jangly The Cure-esque guitar line, vocalist/synth player Roberta Musillami and bassist Eliseo Di Malto toe the line between lamenting and a sweet hopefulness that is especially endearing and poignant in this late stage of winter as the grey clouds occasionally give way to reveal a shy but ever-growing glimpse of sunlight.

I would say that if you are fan of artists like Sarah Kinsley, She’s In Parties and Cocteau Twins (which I know I sure am) then I cannot recommend Lunar Bird and their new single ‘Blue Chamber’ enough. Now is the time to get into them too because this isn’t any stand alone single, it’s rumoured to be the first single of what will be an entirely new EP, their first release of a collection of songs since 2023’s The Birthday Party.

I can’t wait for ‘Blue Chamber’ to be in the world’s hands and feel so lucky to have discovered this song and the wonders of Lunar Bird so give it a listen on all streaming platforms from the 6th February you won’t regret it!
