NYC based artist bug crush (Carolyn Fahrner) announces their new EP Somehow I Go In Circles All The Time, out 16 May via self-release. ‘Mikey Told Me’ is the first single from this coming-of-age EP.
“I wrote ‘Mikey Told Me’ right when I first moved to Brooklyn. I was living with two of my close friends in a shitty apartment. I wasn’t sleeping well because my bedroom floors were 3 inches uneven. In my groggy waking hours, I wandered around Brooklyn and frequently passed by a store called ‘Mikey’s Hook Up’. I thought it was a funny name and it stuck in my head. I wanted to write a song that wasn’t really about me, or anyone I knew, but I think it inevitably ended up being a reflection of my experiences in the world.”
