North Carolina-bred quartet Rainbow Kitten Surprise has exploded onto the scene again with an album announcement and a new single brimming with moxie, ‘Superstar.’

Electric, twanging guitar opens the track and we are re-introduced to the vocals we know and love from lead singer, Ela Melo. Falling right back into the RKS flow, the musical current sweeps us up into a powerfully embodied affirmation delivered through a genre blend of hip-hop, rock, and pop.

‘Superstar’ is a pulsing testament to how we choose to interact with labels that others, rightfully or not, bestow upon us. It’s a bold anthem of reclamation to embody these labels and to incorporate them into a foundation of self that is unshakable. Reminding us that even if people are fickle with their affection for us, we need not be fickle with that love for ourselves. This track is astonishing, dynamic, and elicits hope in droves; leaving listeners with the feeling of, “Of course I’m a Superstar, how could I ever be anything else?”

After a six-year wait, Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s next album LOVE HATE MUSIC BOX will be unveiled on May 10th packed with 22 tracks. This is one of my most anticipated albums of 2024 so make sure to mark your calendars!
