A perfectly balanced night of music, not too loud, not overwhelming and maybe even a little moody, just perfect for enjoying a drink whilst our bodies still adjust to the early sunsets.
x-blu kicked off the night with Dani taking the lead vocals, and it was truly a treat. Being one of the influential LOUD WOMEN photographers I never knew Dani could own the stage so well, she truly proved how multi-skilled our community is. x-blu filled the room with post punk grungy sounds that bought me back to some of the first days I was exposed to music beyond rock and pop. Being the more up-beat performance of the night it was a fabulous start to the night and we have even been teased with new music coming from the band in the new year!
Charley Stone followed the amazing performance from X-Blu with a selection of moody indie songs, bringing a completely different atmosphere to the stage. But what made her set truly memorable was the character and personality she brought to her music. Taking a moment to explain the meaning behind each song before performing it added a sense of charm and intimacy that you don’t often get at live shows. It gave the audience a glimpse into the stories and emotions behind her lyrics, making each performance feel more personal. Her laid-back stage presence, combined with the emotion in her music, created a captivating set that proved you don’t need a high-energy performance to leave a lasting impression.
Last set of the night MIRI brought a burst of punk energy to the stage, combining catchy melodies with raw vocals and a rebellious attitude. Her music had a refreshing honesty to it, blending the loud, unapologetic nature of punk with more personal and emotional song writing. What made her performance stand out was the way she balanced these two sides, moving between moments of vulnerability and bursts of energy without losing the audience’s attention.
