London-based songstress Poesie shares ‘London’ from her forthcoming EP, Nature Mother, out 30 September.
Her first ballad, ‘London’ is full of longing and loneliness, a love letter to city life that creates a melancholic soundtrack to a moment of quiet reflection. Poesie’s heartfelt vocals capture the tension between feeling alone in a city and being drawn to the life and energy that surrounds you.
The song’s final words are inspired by Samuel Johnson’s famous quote, ‘When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life’.
