We are getting VERY excited about this one.
On Saturday 7 November, All Thicc + Bitchflower + Blankslate + Brokentear + Dressy Bessy + Fatal Femmes + GUNK! + I, Doris + Tarah Who? + The Dollheads take over the Fox Theatre in Boulder for the first ever LOUD WOMEN Fest Colorado.
It’s a lineup that joins up some of the brilliant music happening in Colorado with artists travelling in from elsewhere in the US, Mexico and the UK. There are bands we’ve loved for years, bands we’ve already welcomed into the LOUD WOMEN family, and plenty we cannot wait to see on that Fox Theatre stage.
Colorado Springs’ GUNK! bring hardcore punk, sludge and righteous fury; Fort Collins’ Bitchflower and Denver’s Blankslate are part of the home-state contingent, while longtime Colorado favourites Dressy Bessy need very little introduction. From further afield, we’ve got Brokentear coming from Mexico, Seattle’s Fatal Femmes, Joshua Tree’s Tarah Who?, Las Vegas sibling power-punks The Dollheads, and London’s own I, Doris. And then there’s All Thicc, which frankly is an excellent band name and therefore deserves to be written down again.
LOUD WOMEN Fest has always been about connecting scenes as much as putting bands on a stage. The really exciting bit about taking the Fest somewhere new is finding the people already doing the work locally, then bringing everyone together for one enormous night.
Our Colorado crew have been making this happen on the ground, and we can’t wait to finally walk into the Fox Theatre and see it all become real.
