Amsterdam five-piece The Klittens share the final single, ‘Nothing to Teach’, from their upcoming debut album, Have A Heart, out 25 September.
A reflective track infused with jangly guitars and wry humour, ‘Nothing to Teach’ explores the desire to break free from expectations. Vocalist Yaël Dekker explains:
“’Nothing To Teach’ is a reimagined preach, delivered with the same conviction but not the same convictions. The band would like to instill a different sense of purpose, to live a life unbothered by those who (think they) are all knowing.”
The accompanying music video looks back on the journey so far, bringing together footage from life on the road, in the studio and at home.
“The video is a collection of handycam footage from being on the road, in the studio, writing at home, being on stage, and hanging out. It feels like our own celebration of The Klittens and everything that we put into this project, a celebration of having autonomy over the band’s development.”
