Bill Ricky are crossing the Atlantic from Nova Scotia for their first international tour — including three LOUD WOMEN shows in Dublin, London and Canterbury — so we thought it was about time we got to know them properly.
In this new LOUD WOMEN interview, Cyn chats to Leigh Wills about how the six-piece came together, songwriting, their country and punk influences, and the story behind ‘Born Again Jesus’.
Leigh talks about writing the song while coming out of a brutal relationship and reaching the point where she decided to completely change direction: move, start a band and build something new.
They also discuss Bill Ricky’s brilliantly femme fanbase, the relationship between country music and performance, and one ambition still waiting to be ticked off the list: playing a rodeo.
