Seven bands, five hours and one extremely sweaty Windmill: the LOUD WOMEN at Rebellion preview on Sunday 2 August left us thoroughly ready for Blackpool.
We’ve known excellent London punx Breakup Haircut for several years now, and they are sounding better than ever.
Gaydar instantly won a roomful of new devotees with a storming set and an epic cover of Peaches’ ‘Fuck the Pain Away’.
I, Doris unveiled a set of brand-new songs as part of their ongoing Metamorphdoris.
Nell Davies travelled all the way from Penzance to deliver a brilliant set. She also stayed for the whole day to support every other band. Seen and very much appreciated.
New York’s Mona Freaka are serious bright young hopes, and it was an honour to help give these teenage riot grrrls their first overseas tour.
Our new Adelaide BFFs Witch Spit followed with an absolutely storming set. It was also Paige’s birthday, so we were delighted to host her party before watching the band tear up Rebellion.
Whoremones finished us off LA-style with a flying visit full of pit-rousing pure punk. Brief, loud and thoroughly enjoyed.
An excellent half-dayer. Consider us Rebellion-ready.
Coming to Blackpool? Join us on Sunday at the Pavilion Stage for LOUD WOMEN Sunday, featuring Breakup Haircut, Gaydar, HAWXX, Hex Poseur, Lady Lazarus, Mona Freaka, Thwack!, Violet Violet, Whoremones, Witch Spit, Wokerati Party and Yakkie.
