Dublin indie pop-rock artist Taylor D, who is joining us next month at LOUD WOMEN Fest Dublin, is done letting other people decide her worth on ‘Goodbye’. The latest single from her forthcoming EP moves from heartbreak and betrayal towards the relief of finally choosing her own peace.
“My heart is broke but my mind is open.”
That opening line catches the song’s balance perfectly. Taylor is hurt, but no longer prepared to remain trapped by people who drain her energy, manipulate her or leave her constantly questioning herself.
“Putting yourself first isn’t giving up, it’s choosing to allow yourself to heal.”
There is nothing passive about this goodbye. It is a door being closed firmly, with a big pop-rock chorus on the other side. Taylor hopes listeners will recognise their own stories in the song and find the nerve to leave behind whatever has been holding them back.
Judging by ‘Goodbye’, there should be plenty for the LOUD WOMEN Fest Dublin crowd to shout back.
