From the first time I heard it live to its release now, this song has been living in my mind rent-free, and I am not complaining. A story about the importance of not relying on anyone else for love and validation, it explores both heartache and the reimagining of one’s own identity.
The track tells a story of personal growth and acceptance, while offering others the same roadmap that the song provided for CATLEA.
“When I originally wrote the song,” CATLEA confessed, “it wasn’t written with the intention of getting better, it was more of a hopeful thing; an acknowledgment that I needed to love myself more and take better care of myself, because I wasn’t doing that at the time.”
