Australian musician Julia Jacklin shares ‘I Wish’, the second single from her upcoming album, The Gem, out 25 September via 4AD.
Written to Julia’s younger self, ‘I Wish’ continues a practice of self-reflection that has evolved throughout the four albums she has released. Exploring growth and change, the track captures this through the image of a baby bird preparing to take its first flight away from the nest. Featuring Elsie and Maggie Rigby of The Maes, ‘I Wish’ is built around delicate, layered vocals, making it a beautiful closing track to The Gem.
