Electronic artist Maria Uzor announces her new album, Fantasyland, due out 3 September via Hey Buffalo Records, and shares its first single, ‘Don’t Touch Me’.
Formerly one half of Sink Ya Teeth, Uzor explores new terrain on Fantasyland. Written and recorded entirely in the spare room of her flat in Norwich, the album blends techno, electro, trip-hop, indie and bass into a genre-bending soundscape.
‘Don’t Touch Me’ is a catchy, glitchy track that feels like a dream you can’t stop replaying in your head, even after you’ve woken up.
“I’ve always been a daydreamer, which often gets a bad rap. And there ain’t nothing worse than being dragged back to reality! This song is basically me saying ‘Leave me alone in my dreamworld, man!”
