San Francisco’s Rose Blood Festival returns to Neck of the Woods on 29-30 August for a two-day celebration of femme-fronted music, DIY culture and community.
Founded by Starzdust vocalist Natalia Stardust, Rose Blood was created in response to the lack of opportunities for femme musicians in the local scene. Since then, it has grown into an all-ages festival championing independent artists across indie rock, dream pop, punk, electronic and experimental music, while maintaining a strong commitment to accessibility, collaboration and community care.
This year’s lineup is headed by the phenomenal SPELLLING and riot grrrl favourites ChokeCherry, alongside sludgemother, Lealani, Starzdust and another dozen exciting Bay Area artists, showcasing the incredible diversity of San Francisco’s independent music scene.
Rose Blood is also part of a growing international network of grassroots festivals creating more opportunities for women and gender-marginalised artists – a mission that’s very close to our hearts here at LOUD WOMEN.
If you’re in the Bay Area at the end of August, this is one to add to your diary.
