Austrian indie-folk artist Filiah releases her sophomore album, A Deep Breath Out.

Focus track ‘Everybody Knows’ explores imposter syndrome, wrapped in a soundscape that draws on 2010s-inspired dream pop.
“Songwriting has always been my outlet. It acts like a mirror. Up until a few years ago, I didn’t have access to my rage, which is probably why I mostly wrote very sad music. Finding out who I am over time has slowly cracked me open. It can be painful, but I can’t help being honest in my music. I hope that someone else might feel understood in the way I once needed.”

A Deep Breath Out creates a space where vulnerability becomes empowering, forming the backbone of Filiah’s artistry. The album reveals a wider range beyond indie-folk, moving through different hues of pop, including indie-pop and dream pop. Catchy melodies come to life through her openness, with emotion and honesty driving each track.
Maybe Filiah is still that “sad girl with a punchline,” but now with a more self-aware edge, ready for the next step.
