Pleasure Death celebrated the release of their new single 'Liar' with a packed room at The P.I.T. in New York City, a grassroots space dedicated to supporting artists, music and the local community. Team LOUD WOMEN NYC's Faye Tabuada was there to capture the action.
The grunge duo opened with ‘Adriana Smith’ and a call for bodily autonomy. Their set continued with lyrics exploring rage in response to queerphobia and sexual assault, underlined by raw riffs and heavy drums.
Pleasure Death closed out the night with ‘Liar’ and an invitation for audience members to exchange slips of paper bearing the names of people who had wronged them for flowers. The crowd joined in with cathartic yells to sonically charge the slips and hex them through song — and a little post-show arson.
