Naarm/Melbourne band OH! Daisy release new single ‘Just Say’, a punchy, bass-heavy blast of frustration, obsession and emotional chaos. What began as “an intimate diary style piece”, according to vocalist Bambi O’Kelly, has evolved into “an anthem for the crash out” – and it’s easy to see why.
At its heart, ‘Just Say’ is about the exhausting limbo of wanting someone to tell you how they really feel. The lyrics veer between desire, insecurity and outright fixation, while the band pile on thick basslines, sharp guitars and just enough tension to make the whole thing feel slightly dangerous.
“I hope for anyone who relates, that you’re not there anymore,” says O’Kelly. “If you’re there, I hope this makes you feel seen. You shouldn’t need to beg someone for more for the rest of your life.”
It’s that mix of vulnerability and self-awareness that gives the song its bite. Beneath the chaos, there’s a clear message: know your worth.
OH! Daisy have already built a reputation for turning big feelings into bigger tunes, and ‘Just Say’ might be their most relatable release yet. Anyone who’s ever spent too long waiting for clarity from someone unwilling to give it will find plenty to recognise here.
