Built on bright indie-pop textures, ‘hate 2 hate u’ is about letting go of what no longer serves you and moving towards something bigger and better.
“This song is about being the bigger person, not because you want to seem mature, but because you are genuinely too lazy to have beef with someone. I wrote this song the same week as ‘your time’ so it’s about a very similar story, but I feel like this signifies more the healing stage, when you can forgive and finally forget (which is incredibly hard as someone who has never gotten over anything ever). I wanted this track to be upbeat so listeners can dance away all the troubles and overthink that someone may have caused them. This song is a reminder that ultimately you are in control of your mind and you can choose what and what not to care about, simply, just because.”
