Cat Crash, a riot grrl band hailing from NYC/Connecticut/NJ/Massachusetts/China/India have released a new single, ‘You Lie To Yr Therapist’, in collaboration with briar patch. This track leans heavily into the pop-punk/bubblegrunge (or BubbleTeaGrunge as Cat Crash says) that the band has perfected.

The driving bassline, typical for Cecil Yang, crunchy guitars, and the vocal dynamics reminiscent of a vent session between friends makes this track a standout. It’s catchy enough to get stuck in your head after one listen, but the lyrics have enough teeth to make you think about why you’re singing along.

Briar described the song:

This is a song about falling in love with someone who can’t tell anyone about you because you’ll look too gay,” says Briar.

You can catch Cat Crash at LOUD WOMEN Fest NYC on May 16 at Main Drag in Brooklyn, I know I am looking forward to it!
