Sheffield singer-songwriter Precious Pepala releases her new EP Rosey.
Blending alternative pop, rock, soul, and gospel, Precious Pepala’s cinematic world of Rosey comes to life through vivid storytelling, following its titular character. Across the EP, she explores the spiral of toxic love: infatuation, obsession, and emotional self-destruction, where red flags become blurred through rose-tinted glasses.
Speaking on the EP, Precious Pepala shares:
“I knew I wanted to write some songs about romance and love. I’ve grown up a bit, I’ve had relationships, I’ve been in love, I think, and I’ve experienced the good and bad parts of those things. In a world where social media, dating apps and the internet cause more toxicity, jealousy and friction than ever in relationships, I wanted to explore some of the more bleak realities of romance instead of writing a bunch of wishy washy love songs. Some people might hear the songs on this EP and think I’m crazy or toxic, which maybe I am, but I think if people are honest, they’ve either been like Rosey or had a friend like Rosey before… just without the fatal ending, hopefully!”
