North Yorkshire/London lo-fi folk artist Natalie Wildgoose releases her latest EP Rural Hours via state51.
Recorded between a remote chapel and a bothy high in an isolated part of the Yorkshire Dales, the EP draws directly from its surroundings. Wildgoose worked alongside musicians Chris Brain and Owen Spafford during the sessions, later expanding the process by inviting Chester Caine, Matt Robinson, and artist and filmmaker Nina Maria Allmoslechner into this shared creative space.
“Being in such remote and at times difficult places, where our everyday worries become so small and tiny, for me was so important when influencing the writing. I am beyond thankful to them for trusting me.”
Natalie Wildgoose
Rural Hours builds on a foundation of remoteness, with rich and otherworldly vocals, creating a sense of warmth and calm. Delicate analogue textures reconnect to the past, away from the chaos of modern life.
