Ora Cogan releases her latest album, Hard Hearted Woman, her debut on Sacred Bones Records.
Hard Hearted Woman is a spellbinding album, a vortex of emotion that shapeshifts from track to track. A magical light glows from within, where psychedelia and folk converge. Reflecting on the album, Cogan says:
“It’s the most important part, the magic. What I write about isn’t always confessional, sometimes it is just an attempt at understanding. Working on music right now feels necessary for a healthy nervous system. I hope that it works that way for the people listening.”
In a fractured world, Hard Hearted Woman is not about shutting down, but about survival. Hardness protects tenderness, keeping open the possibility of feeling, connection, and change.
