Lady Lazarus - LOUD WOMEN Fest Berlin - Badehaus - Magda Campagne

Lady Lazarus – the Berlin-based international riot grrrls via Sydney, LA and London – just dropped new single ‘PARTY!‘, and it’s a blast of chaotic joy with a darker pulse beating underneath. Recorded in a converted underground WWII bunker on the outskirts of Berlin (because of course it was), the track captures the exact moment when everything in your head and everything in the world feels a bit too much – and the only rational response is to turn the music up and dance through it.

On the surface, “PARTY!” is huge fun: punchy, hooky, and packed with the brash punk energy that Lady Lazarus do so well. But dig a little deeper and the song reveals something sharper. As vocalist Caroline explains, it’s about the point where internal battles and the “fucked up political state” collide, and escapism becomes survival. The result is a track that feels both euphoric and uneasy – a sugar-rush anthem for anyone trying to keep it together while the world burns.

Lady Lazarus have always been at the heart of the scene. Rooted firmly in the DIY traditions of 90s riot grrrl – handmade zines, grassroots organising, community activism – they’re part of the engine that keeps feminist punk scenes alive. They organised our first LOUD WOMEN Fest in Australia in 2024, and last month they organised LOUD WOMEN Fest Berlin, showcasing non-male voices from the city’s heavy music community, and continuing their commitment to building spaces as well as stages.

‘PARTY!’ is the first taste of their upcoming debut album, due later this summer. We’re very happy to join the party.
