Fuzzy Manchester alt-rock band cruush are back with new single, ‘Great Dane’. Brighter and bolder than previous releases cruush embark on a new era, resulting in a track that celebrates the 90’s MTV style.
Vocalists and lyricist Amber Warren shared some insights into the latest single – marrying the nature of a banal commute with surrealist imagery:
“It’s a song about the 20 to 28 minutes on the train between Todmorden and Manchester Victoria. A daily commute can really poison how beautiful a journey is. Like an oil spill devastating the countryside outside Rochdale; Smithybridge has been absolutely fucked, mate.
The title comes from the line ‘there’s a Great Dane in my pocket again’ which is ridiculous because a Great Dane would never fit in your pocket. Unless it was a tiny little one. We tend to carry too much around in our pockets, though, don’t we?”
To back up the release of ‘Great Dane’ the band head out on a UK tour in February
