Sonic disrupter Boxtape, hailing from Sussex, are making their return known, with their new track ‘Freakshow’, out on 5 February 2026.
Blending fast-paced EDM with gentle piano breaks, ‘Freakshow’ is an explosive opening single to Boxtape’s upcoming debut EP UV Human (releasing 28 April 2026). A world away from their previous indie-folk sound, ‘Freakshow’ showcases singer and writer Kat Ward’s vulnerability in the softer breaks, before crashing into pulsing EDM and a powerful mantra, ending in a raw scream. It feels like a symbol to other outsiders, a call to arms to not follow social norms.
