“THIS IS WHAT THE FUTURE OF PUNK LOOKS LIKE” — KERRANG!
LOUD WOMEN Sunday returns to Rebellion Festival 2026, bringing our most international, queer, DIY punk lineup ever to the LOUD WOMEN Stage. This is a full-on celebration of feminist, FLINTA-led bands who build scenes, challenge power, and mean it.
Here’s our lineup …
BREAKUP HAIRCUT (London, UK)
Sometimes-pop, sometimes-punk with boppin’ basslines and painfully relatable lyrics. Formed at First Timers Fest 2019, Breakup Haircut are deeply embedded in the London DIY scene as organisers of First Timers Fest, Decolonise Fest and Girls Rock! London. They’ve supported Big Joanie and The Wedding Present and are all about friendship, tunes, and community.
GAYDAR (Newcastle, UK)
A ferocious 3-piece punk band serving pure queer rage. Danceable, punchy and political, Gaydar channel personal and collective anger into empowering queer anthems – loud, fast and cathartic.
HAWXX (Leeds, UK)
A feral coven of queer feminist punk metal from Leeds. HAWXX write about feminist resistance, violence against women and queer people, ecological collapse, and being both a sensitive soul and a naughty gremlin.
HEX POSEUR (Nottingham, UK)
Led by Harri Bettsworth, Hex Poseur blends grunge, stoner, garage rock and riot grrrl with gothic horror imagery and sharp political themes. Since 2020 she’s released five EPs and a full-length album, earning a fierce reputation on the UK underground circuit.
LADY LAZARUS (Berlin, Germany / International)
International globe-trotters and certified scenesters. Formerly based in Sydney – where they organised LOUD WOMEN Fest Melbourne 2024 – Lady Lazarus are now Berlin-based and running LOUD WOMEN Fest Berlin. With a debut album and UK/EU tour landing in 2026, they bring global DIY energy to Rebellion.
MONA FREAKA (Woodstock, New York, USA)
Teen riot grrrls from Woodstock, NYC. Mona Freaka’s music has been played on radio worldwide, with their track “American Actress” added to Four Tet’s playlist. Vinyl, cassettes, attitude and serious momentum – these are future legends in the making.
THWACK! (London, UK)
London-based orchestral punk with strings, satire and camp theatricality. Formed in 2022, THWACK! fuse drag, theatre and punk into explosive, politically charged performances that hit hard and make you laugh while doing it.
VIOLET VIOLET (Norwich, UK)
Riot grrrl icons originally formed in the early 2000s. Praised by Drowned In Sound and Stewart Lee, and having shared stages with The Slits and Fuzzbox, the original trio reunited after two decades – because friendship never ends, and neither do these riffs.
WHOREMONES (Los Angeles, California, USA)
Female-fronted thrash punk tearing through hardcore and metal. Whoremones centre their music on exposing government corruption, and the oppression and violence faced by women and minorities — embracing chaos as a reflection of the world we’re living in.
WITCH SPIT (Australia)
One band. Two wives. Zero apologies. Witch Spit deliver loud, dominant riot grrrl punk from Australia, tearing down the patriarchy with bucketloads of attitude and no compromise.
WOKERATI PARTY (Southend-on-Sea, UK)
A 2-piece queer-feminist punk band formed in 2023. Wokerati Party are proudly pro-woke and lefty, writing anthems about queer rights, solidarity and resistance with riot grrrl fury.
YAKKIE (London, UK)
A DIY punk supergroup fronted by Janey Starling (ex founder of Dream Nails), with members of Petrol Girls, Colour Me Wednesday and Jasmine.4.T. Heavy, righteous, furious and funny — music for the urgency of this political moment.
Expect to be hearing lots more about each of these bands!
