‘Julius’ is Charlie Franklin‘s debut single, written about desire and confession, and sung in a beautifully calm, peaceful manner.

‘And you know how to settle down… and settle me down’

The song has a wonderful simplicity about it, with the guitar and vocals being at the center. This allows you to really hear and feel the lyrics, sung with so much sincerity, accompanied by the folky acoustic guitar. ‘Julius’ is a strong debut single, really taking us into Franklin’s world, and giving us a glimpse into her thoughts.

“Julius speaks for itself as a lustful poetic declaration of love settled in this feeling of peace. A kind of love filled with delicious strong desire but also an unquestioning security and calm..” Franklin comments.

Guitars and vocals were recorded entirely in one take, together with rising North Yorkshire artist Natalie Wildgoose. The entire song feels like a secret love poem, and the simple, yet well thought out strings that accompany the vocals add atmosphere and texture.

This release is the first of more music to come in 2026, along with live dates.
