Edinburgh-based duo PELOWSKA share their new single ‘Calton Hill’, a glimpse into their debut EP end / start, out on 4 December.
The trip-hop pair, consisting of Aneshka Pelowska (vocals/synths) and Dave Tynan (bass/guitar), deliver poignant lyrics over a glitchy soundscape.
‘Calton Hill’ marks a crossroads moment for Aneshka, between old and new. She describes the track as: “When I walked away from the illusion of safety and chose myself instead.”
Aneshka elaborates:
“Set against Edinburgh’s skyline, it rises from the volcanic heart of Scotland’s capital and the ashes of personal crisis. It’s about standing on the edge of your old life and choosing a new path, knowing there’s no way back. It’s a farewell to deceit and deliberate manipulation, and an embrace of the raw, terrifying, yet unapologetic beauty that comes with letting go of what no longer serves us.”
Upcoming live dates:
6 December – Leith Cricket Club – Edinburgh – Tickets
24 January – The Priory – Aberdeen
25 January – Le Belle Angele – Edinburgh
