Alt-pop singer, songwriter, and visual artist Lunar June (Olivia Judd) returns with new single ‘ripped jeans’.
‘ripped jeans’ is a catchy track infused with 90s pop brightness. On this latest single, Lunar June navigates through the bittersweet feeling of slowly forgetting about someone.
“They’re no longer the first thing you think of when you wake up or go to bed; they don’t dominate your headspace the way they used to. Whilst it’s a relief, it’s also sad because they once meant so much to you, and you hoped they’d be somebody you’d never have to force yourself to forget.

I wrote the song by myself, hungover one day in the studio I used to work at. There was some downtime and there weren’t any clients I had to tend to, so I picked up an acoustic guitar and started writing. I then demo’d it out (very productive hungover day) and took it to my producer, Luke. We recorded drums and bass for it back in May. It was actually one of the more challenging songs to produce – figuring out where it needed space and room to breathe. There’s quite a lot going on in the track, so the balance was a little trickier to strike. Think we managed it, though.”
Lunar June will be supporting WILDES at Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney on 14 October.
