Los Angeles-born, New York City-based artist Scarlet Rae shares No Heavy Goodbyes, her first EP for Bayonet Records.
No Heavy Goodbyes explores themes of solitude, grief, and acceptance. Rae builds the EP’s foundation with her distinctive blend of shoegaze gloom and glitchy, textured soundscapes. Opening track ‘A World Where She Left Me’ finds Rae navigating the early stages of grief following the loss of her sister.
‘The Reason I Could Sleep Forever’ is a relatable track that finds Rae caught in limbo between giving up and finding the strength to carry on, where the pull of solitude feels strongest.
