Women over 50 based in South Wales – ever wanted to be a music video? Tuesday 16 Sept is your chance! The NaNaz – a group of women who formed a punk band last year, following on from the ‘Nana Punk’ workshops – are filming a video for their debut single ’60 Lies’ at The Cab, Newport, between 5 and 7pm. The invite is open to all women (including trans women 🏳️‍⚧️) who would like to go along and get involved – just show up, wearing whatever you’d choose to wear to a NaNaz gig, and bring your most positive vibes!

The single ’60 Lies’ is in support of the WASPI (Women Against State Pension Inequality) campaign, which has fought tirelessly for over a decade to highlight the injustice faced by 3 million women who lost up to five years of pension entitlement.

The single was recorded and produced by Jeff “death” Rose of Skindred.

The NaNaz channel frustration, fury, and fun into their music. They bring the spirit of punk rebellion to a new generation of activism — proving that age is no barrier to raising your voice and demanding justice.

I’ve had the privilege of running workshops with these incredible women – a bass workshop last year, and just yesterday a DIY promotion skills session at the Wales Millennium Centre. I can’t wait to see what The NaNaz do next – they’re women who defy expectation, and we are absolutely here for it.

And if you’d like to witness the full NaNaz experience live, they are playing at the WMC on 24 October, with Scare Bears and The Daisy Green Experiencetickets here!
