Women over 50 based in South Wales – ever wanted to be a music video? Tuesday 16 Sept is your chance! The NaNaz – a group of women who formed a punk band last year, following on from the ‘Nana Punk’ workshops – are filming a video for their debut single ’60 Lies’ at The Cab, Newport, between 5 and 7pm. The invite is open to all women (including trans women 🏳️⚧️) who would like to go along and get involved – just show up, wearing whatever you’d choose to wear to a NaNaz gig, and bring your most positive vibes!
The single ’60 Lies’ is in support of the WASPI (Women Against State Pension Inequality) campaign, which has fought tirelessly for over a decade to highlight the injustice faced by 3 million women who lost up to five years of pension entitlement.

The NaNaz channel frustration, fury, and fun into their music. They bring the spirit of punk rebellion to a new generation of activism — proving that age is no barrier to raising your voice and demanding justice.
I’ve had the privilege of running workshops with these incredible women – a bass workshop last year, and just yesterday a DIY promotion skills session at the Wales Millennium Centre. I can’t wait to see what The NaNaz do next – they’re women who defy expectation, and we are absolutely here for it.
