LA-based Evalyn is high-energy, nostalgic euphoria. After the release of ‘The Feeling’, she now drops new single ‘Boysgirls’ as a second taster of what to expect from upcoming album A Quiet Life (hint: it sounds closer to a boat party in Ibiza than quiet, family life in suburbia).

It’s apt that Evalyn’s latest singles are a little nostalgic in sound (think 2010’s when rapturous dance anthems were all over the charts). The majority of her upcoming album was written and recorded during her first pregnancy, looking over modern day life as she prepared to enter a very new stage. Musically, there’s a sprinkling of Garage-house and glitch-pop, with production inspiration from the likes of Grimes and Aphex Twin.

“We had so much fun working and reworking production until it felt like it hit right – I wanted to capture that feeling of instagram stalking your ex situationship and then spinning out a little.”

Put on your rose-coloured glasses and lose yourself in old memories and nostalgic sounds. ‘Boysgirls’ is out now – keep an eye out for her upcoming album.
