Lucy Dacus stopped off at Moody Amphitheater in Austin, TX as part of her ‘Forever is a Feeling’ tour. Shortly before Lucy took the stage, fireworks from the University of Texas Graduation illuminated the sky adding another layer of beauty to the park-turned-venue for the night.
Manchester-based Jasmine 4.t kicked off the night playing a 7-song set consisting of songs off her boygenius produced record You Are the Morning.

Katie Gavin followed with a full band set her folk influenced 2024 solo album What a Relief. Both artists are close friends of Lucy’s and their lyric forward music makes all the sense in the world to get the crowd going.
Lucy and her band took the stage to the instrumental track ‘Calliope Prelude’ and continued on to ‘Hot and Heavy’, ‘Ankles’ and ‘Limerence’. Most of the set consisted of songs from her latest album Forever is a Feeling.
Lucy has a quiet confidence of someone who is doing exactly what they should be doing at the place they should be doing it at. After the broad success of boygenius that brought more eyes and ears in her direction she still has a deep understanding and trust in her audience. The crowd was locked in and attentive and Lucy took notice stating “I get the impression that maybe some of you guys have been tuned in since the beginning of this”. Longterm fans were treated to multiple deep cuts including ‘Triple Dog Dare’, ‘Nonbeliever’ and the first song she ever put out ‘Trust’ off of her 2016 album No Burden.
Midway through the set, after admitting to the crowd that she missed the opportunity to get her mom flowers, she asked for the crowd’s help in wishing her mom a happy Mothers Day. She then played a ‘My Mother and I’ off of her 2019 LP for the first time since 2022. Lucy commented on the crowd’s enthusiasm multiple times throughout the night as well as her love for Austin, she fondly recalled playing 18 shows at the city’s South by Southwest Festival in 2018.
Lucy further proved her attention to the crowd saying:
“I just want to tell you all that my favorite part of my life is watching you guys sing to each other. It helps me be not self-centered, realizing that, like, you guys have your own lives where these songs live, and they matter to you, totally separate from (how) they matter to me.”
She cemented her rockstar status closing the evening with ‘Night Shift’ The chorus of 5,000 of singing and shouting along could be heard blocks away
Lucy Dacus continues her tour in the UK/EU starting on June 8th in Bristol
