Formed barely more than a year ago, Berlin’s Lilac Attitude immediately grabbed my attention from their band name alone. The band themselves describe it as “not merely a name but a promise: to go ahead and follow your heart no matter the outcome.”

It’s this carefree attitude that draws you in to their self-described “floral grunge” sound. They take the untethered angst of 90’s grunge (think early Hole), and combine it with the raw punk sound of bands like Kleenex and X-Ray Spex. It references the past, without giving in to cheap nostalgia.

Lilac Attitude describe their latest single ‘Lucid Changes’ as:

A grand ballad penned by Daisy to Jacky, sung by Jacky to Daisy. It’s a two-way mutual expression of love, revealing a painful vulnerability and dependency to one another, feeling as dramatic as the solar system.

Their debut EP, Love & Rage, is set to be released 13th June.
