Twat Union are back, and they’ve brought receipts. Their new single ‘Red Flag’ (out 2 April via Alcopop! Records) is a feral, feminist punk rampage through the absolute car crash that is modern dating. It’s hilarious, it’s scathing, and it’s the most fun you’ll have screaming into the void this week. This is our LOUD WOMEN

Musically, ‘Red Flag’ is a raucous, horn-fuelled call-and-response anthem that starts with a twangy little riff before exploding into a full-throttle chant-along.

“It was one of the first songs we worked on more collaboratively for the lyrics, playing the riff and going around the rehearsal room all saying different red flags we had encountered – some were ridiculous, some pretty dark, and we chucked in one from Winston Churchill just for good measure.”

This is the punk rock dating manual we all needed but were too busy ignoring the signs to write ourselves.

Somewhere between X-Ray Spex, Charly Bliss and a very angry group chat, Twat Union continue their mission to make punk gigs both the best comedy night and the best therapy session in town. If ‘Red Flag’ is anything to go by, their upcoming EP Don’t Look It In The Eye (out 4 April) is going to be an absolute riot. Get it in your ears, get to a gig, and for the love of all things holy, start listening to the red flags.

🚩 FFO: Punk gigs that feel like group exorcisms, feminist fury, bangers you can line-dance to.
🚩 Catch them live: 27 April, Prince Albert Brighton, matinée – bring a helmet.
