“I’m sick of how the systems in place in culture and the modern music industry encourages quick consumption, especially for emerging artists. This really bothers me, as it was listening to longer form projects with lore and nuance that made me fall in love with some of my favourite artists and become a long term fan rather than just listening to a single for a few weeks and moving on. There’s now pressure to condense a body of work into soundbites that conform to algorithms, so it means that artists are discouraged to create deeper and longer form projects. This record is written purposefully in retaliation to that, and is intended to be listened to as a whole.”
