Tri-coastal indie rock quartet Mamalarky just announced their new album Hex Key out 11 April via Epitaph Records. Mamalarky also shares the lead single and accompanying video ‘#1 Best of All Time’.
Mamalarky is composed of Livvy Bennett, Noor Khan, Michael Hunter and Dylan Hill. Hex Key was recorded in their Los Angeles home studio and is the band’s debut on Epitaph Records.
‘#1 Best of All Time’ is a fast and furious track that plays on competitiveness and betting on yourself no matter what. During recording, Hill dealt with poison ivy and still delivered the standout drumming on ‘#1 Best of All Time’.
“Through a lot of games of UNO I’ve discovered I’m actually a pretty competitive person. And somehow, the feeling of losing has become highly motivating to me. I always feel like I’m competing against myself, trying to best my last attempt at whatever I’ve set out to do. Like, you probably can’t be the best of all time, but you’ll always be the best you of all time–no one can dispute that.
