Irish alt-rock band Monday’s Child just dropped ‘Problem Girl’ – the first track from Monday’s Child debut EP, out this May. Heavy on the bass, guitars, and emotions, ‘Problem Girl’ claims LOUD WOMEN’s #singleoftheweek.
Based in Belfast, Monday’s child is formed by the McKay sisters Jen, Lauren and Clara with friend Caitlin Lenfestey on drums. Monday’s Child is a whirlwind of grunge, rock, and melodic nostalgia.
Lead singer and guitarist Jen McKay shares that ‘Problem Girl’ is:
“a thrashing manifestation of one’s inner turmoil, pulling between the parts that want to blame the world around you for your problems and the insecure parts that pick apart your every thought and movement. To realise that neither one is better than the other and that the two contradicting personalities are what keep us in equilibrium. But the journey to this realisation can sometimes lead everything to come crashing down around you.”
